AIDAprima starts 2019 summer season in Kiel
On Friday, May 17, 2019, AIDA President Felix Eichhorn and Captain Marc-Dominique Tidow welcomed the port’s Managing Director Dr. Dirk Claus and Harbormaster Michael Schmidt aboard AIDAprima in Kiel for the traditional plaque exchange.
Until October 2019 AIDAprima will be setting out from the Förde on seven-day cruises to Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Helsinki and Stockholm, some of the most popular travel destinations on the Baltic. The program will also include two cruises along the Norwegian coast in July 2019. AIDAprima will call 23 times in Kiel this season. Overall, the ships with the smiling lips will arrive at the Förde 60 times this year. Four AIDA ships are expected during the Kieler Woche. On June 30, 2019, AIDA’s grand closing fireworks will begin at 11 p.m.
AIDAprima has 1,647 cabins, is 300 meters long, 37.60 meters wide, and is a vacation paradise for the whole family. At the Four Elements, the double water slide, the Lazy River and a rope course offer plenty of action for all ages. Thanks to a sliding membrane roof, guests can enjoy themselves in the Four Elements at any time of the year regardless of the weather. Apart from the Kids and Teens Club, the ship also has a Mini Club that looks after children from the age of 6 months. Meanwhile adults can relax to their heart’s content in the 3,100 sqm wellness area with its five saunas, several indoor and outdoor pools, a tepidarium and a fireplace room.
Twelve restaurants and three snack bars invite guests to take a culinary trip round the world. At the AIDA Cooking Studio amateur chefs get the chance to conjure up exquisite meals themselves, for instance at the Tim Mälzer Cookery School. The 14 bars are the ideal places to meet up, swap stories, and make new friends.
At the AIDA Beach Club, guests can daydream beneath palm trees and unwind beside the pool. A membrane dome – which lets through UV light but is virtually invisible – means that guests can enjoy a laid-back beach feel even when it’s chilly outside. In the evening the Beach Club opens for beach parties around the AIDA Bar. The Lanai Deck with its infinity pools, an exclusive Patio Deck, glass elevators, a skywalk, and many other amenities makes AIDAprima an attractive vacation destination at any weather condition.
