Excellent conferencing at sea: AIDA vessels recognized as “Certified Conference Ships”

Rostock, 30. May 2014

AIDAaura and AIDAvita are the first cruise ships to receive the accolade of “Certified Conference Ship.” The ships were audited in mid-May and certified with the quality check of the VDR (German Business Travel Association).

This means that the ships meet all quality criteria demanded by corporate clients for holding conferences and conventions at sea. The 54 examination criteria cover professional event management, additional rooms for group work, and basic fit-out, for example with technical equipment. The ships proved to be highly persuasive with well-equipped conference rooms, with adequate space for presentation and seminars.

AIDA Cruises offer corporate clients the opportunity to hold employee or customer events on board AIDA ships in a unique ambience. The ships may be booked completely or as a split charter for events of two days or more. The auditing of further AIDA ships is already being planned.

With a capacity of 590 to 1,097 staterooms, AIDA ships offer all the same scope of hotels or conference centers on land. The fit-out on board makes it possible to combine a conference program with existing recreational options, to produce a unique event. Each ship features rooms of different sizes, providing the perfect place to retreat. The spacious theater, Theatrium and seminar rooms feature a state-of-the-art technical fit-out and provide the perfect setting for presentations and lectures. The public areas too, such as restaurants, bars and lounges, are ideal for meetings, cocktail receptions and discussion groups. Onboard accommodation is of the highest standard: staterooms have a modern, cheerful design, and are fitted with direct dial telephone, radio, satellite TV and air-conditioning. Apart from inside and outside staterooms, balcony staterooms and suites can also be booked. Furthermore, guests can treat themselves to a session in the wellness and gym area, lounge on the pool and sun decks, and enjoy gourmet food in the first-class restaurants. Nor should one forget the shore excursions which can be undertaken at every port, and arranged entirely in line with individual wishes.
