For the sixth time, the cruise line AIDA Cruises is main sponsor for the HAMBURG PORT ANNIVERSARY, demonstrating its continued dedication to the Hanseatic City.
Hansjörg Kunze, Vice President Communication & Sustainability, says, “As one of the most important tourism partners of Hamburg, we want to significantly contribute to the event’s continued success. Every year anew, maritime festivals like the HAMBURG PORT ANNIVERSARY show visitors how exciting cruising, the best way to vacation, can be.”
With AIDAluna, AIDAprima, AIDAsol and AIDAvita, the main sponsor will be contributing four ships to the festival. AIDAvita will kick it off on Friday, May 5, 2017, when it drops anchor at Cruise Center Steinwerder around 8 a.m. Departure is planned for 7:30 p.m. Before AIDAvita leaves the port, the ship will take a little tour of it, past Harbor Piers and the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie. Then AIDAvita will head off on a 14-day Selection cruise to Great Britain and Ireland.
On Saturday, May 6, 2017, AIDAprima will dock at Cruise Center Steinwerder as well, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday evening, 10:30 p.m., will mark the event’s illustrious highlight when the AIDA fireworks display in the vicinity of Harbor Piers turn the night sky over the Elbe into a glittering sea of color. AIDAprima will open this spectacular production against the impressive backdrop of Hamburg and be part of the show. After the ceremony, at 11 p.m., AIDAprima will head for the most beautiful cities in Western Europe.
As the grand finale of the festivities, on Sunday, May 7, 2017, AIDAluna will dock at Cruise Center Hafencity from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and AIDAsol in Altona from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. AIDAluna will then depart for the most beautiful destinations in Norway.
