Rostock, 07. October 2015

The cruise line AIDA Cruises has published its new catalog with cruises from March 2016 to April 2017, and a look ahead to October 2017. The 276-page program includes over 90 cruises to over 180 ports. As Germany’s leading cruise line, the variety AIDA offers is unparalleled. The offerings extend from Nordic cruises to “wanderlust” cruises in the Caribbean and Southeast Asia.

Summer variety from the North Cape to the Azores
The 2016 summer program includes the first voyages with the new flagship AIDAprima. Starting on April 30, the cruise ship will depart from Hamburg weekly on its metropolitan cruises. AIDAprima is the first ship that will offer cruises leaving from Germany year round. Cruise-goers departing from Germany in the summer of 2016 can choose between 23 different routes. In addition to AIDAprima, five more AIDA ships will be leaving from Hamburg, Kiel, and Warnemünde on cruises to the Baltic Sea, Norway’s fjords, the British Islands, and the Arctic Circle. On the new route “Norway with Lofoten & North Cape” with AIDAvita guests can explore new territory at three destinations: in Bodø north of the Arctic Circle, in Haugesund in Norway, and in Århus in Denmark.
In August, Fishguard in Wales and the English city of Newcastle will enhance the route “Great Britain & Ireland.” Bornholm will be added to the Baltic Sea cruises.
For the first time, cruises to the Canary Islands with their year-round mild temperatures can be booked in summer as well. New routes at this destination combine the Canary Islands and the Azores. Hot volcanoes, historical towns, crater lakes as smooth as glass, and miles of hydrangea hedges - the Azores are an unusual destination far away from mass tourism. AIDA stops in April and during the winter months in Faial, Terceira, and São Miguel.
More cruise highlights in summer 2016 include new destinations in the Mediterranean, such as classy Nice on the Côte d’Azur, the Balearic beauties Ibiza and Minorca, La Spezia, the picturesque Propriano in Corsica, and Souda Bay in Crete.
Five AIDA ships with 11 routes offer boundless variety in one of the most popular cruise regions in the world from the Canary to the Balearic Islands, the Adriatic and the Aegean Sea.

Winter far up north and on heavenly beaches
Winter 2016/2017 will be hot and cold with AIDA: As a new and exclusive highlight, the latest catalog includes three dates for cruises to wintry Norway. These 14-day cruises from/to Hamburg take guests to the land of the northern lights and a unique winter landscape in the fjords. Guests can take a ride with snowmobiles, a dog sleigh or a carriage ride with reindeers.
Snow-white beaches in Southeast Asia are quite a contrast to clear, cold winter air. It will get hot, for example, at the Thai curry cooking course on the island of Koh Samui, where AIDA will dock between December and March.
More sunny destinations AIDA ships will be heading for in winter include the Canary Islands, the Orient, India – these can also be booked in combination – and exotic islands in the Caribbean. On the Canary Islands, El Hierro will be a destination for AIDA cruises for the first time while St. Thomas will be a stop in the Caribbean and Costa Maya in Mexico.
A special year-round destination is AIDAprima, which will depart every Saturday from Hamburg in winter 2016/2017 as well. Whether Christmas shopping in Paris, London, Brussels, or Rotterdam, a museum tour outside of the busy tourist season, or glorious spring in the city – the new flagship combines all of this with exceptional comfort, a huge variety of wellness offerings, an activity deck, and even beach flair all year round beneath a transparent dome.

Good prospects for an AIDA summertime high in 2017
AIDA is giving a little glimpse of upcoming cruises in summer 2017 – for all those who want to make sure they get their favorite stateroom in the peak season, for example, for the routes “Highlights in the Arctic Circle,” “Norway with Lofoten & North Cape,” or “Norway’s fjords.” Many of these cruises can be booked now.
