Our corporate culture: AIDA cares

Erfolge teilen

“AIDA cares” is not only the name of our sustainability program, it is also an expression of our corporate culture. We make our commitments out of conviction – and in a variety of areas.

We want to make a contribution to sustainable development and take on responsibility with our commitment to the community. Thanks to our commitment, employees, partners and all economic stakeholders can see what we stand for and what is important to us. It goes without saying that we want to share our successes and we give back to the community in the form of donations and sponsorships. We allocate these funds in line with our donation guidelines. That means that decisions are taken based on defined criteria and are always transparent.

Every year, our guests support projects in crisis regions by taking part in our New Year’s Eve raffle. In 2012, we rounded up the total to € 100,000 and donated it to the emergency relief program of the international charitable organization SOS-Kinderdorf. The donations were used to build a new orphanage in Addis Ababa. Social commitment to children in need is something that has been close to our heart for years at AIDA Cruises. Together with our guests, we want to take on responsibility and give the gift of a smile to the world’s children.

Sport is a key component of the AIDA experience, both on board and ashore. That’s why we support our sports patrons in the disciplines of rowing, cycling, football, golf, hockey and marathon in our AIDA Sports Crew. AIDA Cruises also promotes culture. Since 2002, we have been the main sponsor of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania festival – one of the largest classical music festivals in Germany.

We are highly committed to our Rostock HQ, and for years now, we have been a partner in promoting a variety of social and cultural events and institutions in the region. We support maritime organizations such as the German Seafarers’ Mission in Rostock, as well as the University of Rostock, the School Music Weeks that take place in the city and the Rostock Zoo.

Please check out our current donations list for an overview of the institutions that we supported in 2012. Most partnerships have been in existence for many years.
