David Hartley was born in Essex, England. Following his successful graduation from Performers College in London, he initially collaborated in numerous British TV productions.
He began his musicals career as Alonzo in CATS at the Operettenhaus Hamburg. This was followed by TANZ DER VAMPIRE at the Apollo Theater Stuttgart, ELISABETH at the Colosseum Theater Essen, MIAMI NIGHTS at the Capitol Theater Düsseldorf and 42ND STREET at the Apollo Theater Stuttgart. In the productions of 3 MUSKETIERE at the Theater des Westens Berlin and at the Apollo Theater Stuttgart, he was also entrusted with the role of Dance Captain.
Since 2008, David has been working as a choreographer for AIDA Entertainment in Hamburg. Additional jobs as a choreographer include, among others, ME AND MY GIRL at the Theater im Nordpark Mönchengladbach and the Theater Krefeld, ALICE IM WUNDERLAND at Schmidts Tivoli Hamburg, LETTERLAND and PINKELSTADT at the Neue Kellertheater Wetzlar and I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE at the E-Werk Freiburg. His most recent choreographic successes include LOTTE, at the summer theatre festival Wetzlarer Festspiele in Wetzlar, which was nominated for Best Musical at the German Musical Theater Award and BECAUSE OF LOVE in Shanghai, China.
Alongside his role as a Jazz and Tap Dance Instructor, he has also been working for artists in the AIDA Casting Department since 2016.
